Character Formation Awareness

The journey commenced with an inquiry received via the DronePilotPete website. Following this, the first step involved establishing contact with the client to discuss the project brief and ascertain their specific needs.

A series of comprehensive phone conversations ensued with the event manager, Reb, spanning several weeks leading up to the event. As part of the pre-event preparations, a site visit was conducted, mirroring the approach detailed in the article titled 'A Day in the Life of a Drone Pilot.'

Navigating through the landscape, various requirements were needed for submission to the council, aiming to secure the necessary approvals for the drone flight. Simultaneously, the event manager, Reb, undertook extensive planning duties, a process distinct from the provided Event Plan Template.

This assignment demanded an unparalleled level of pre-work, arguably one of the most extensive preparations I've undertaken. Throughout the entire process, the motivation remained clear - contributing to an extraordinary event geared towards raising awareness. The significance of this endeavour was underscored during the interview, with the understanding that any small role played in supporting the cause constituted a triumph.

On the day of the event, my equipment arsenal was comprehensive. A fully loaded car, housing a variety of drones, safety gear, batteries, an inverter for charging, computers, extra SD cards, and a comforting SOY latte, ensured preparedness for unforeseen challenges. The strategic use of a Mini 3 Pro drone initially, due to the presence of birds, transitioned to a Mavic 3 Pro for its enhanced zoom capabilities, ultimately delivering the desired results.

A special day I won’t forget, dedicated to raising awareness made it a truly rewarding experience.
